U00016060 To avoid irreversible effects, update the AWI to the given target version

AWI version - Automic Web Interface 24.4.0+hf2-67-17d21a0d709

Environment

AE 24.4.2 HF2

AWI 24.4.1

Cause

This error occurs when the Automic Web Interface (AWI) has not been upgraded to the target version before the upgrade of the Automation Engine is initiated. The ZDU process requires that all AWI instances are already running the new version to ensure compatibility and prevent data corruption.

Resolution

Resolution

The error message U00016060 To avoid irreversible effects, update the AWI to the given target version indicates a critical mismatch during the Zero Downtime Upgrade (ZDU) process for Automic Automation.

To resolve this issue, you must follow the correct ZDU procedure:

  1. Stop the failed ZDU process.
  2. Upgrade all Automic Web Interface (AWI) instances. You must install and configure the new version of AWI on your web server (e.g., Tomcat, WebSphere, or the provided Jetty launcher). Upgrade AWI to 24.4.1
  3. Verify AWI is running correctly on the new version by accessing the login page.
  4. Restart the Zero Downtime Upgrade process for the Automation Engine.

The system will now recognize that the AWI is on the correct version, and the upgrade should proceed as expected.
