Issue/Introduction

  • The intended Edge nodes does not show up for the replacement in the edge cluster
    • Login to the NSX Manager as user admin
    • Navigate to System --> Configuration --> Fabric --> Nodes --> Edge Cluster --> Action --> Replace Edge Cluster Member

    • Select the edge node that needs to be replaced on the left side drop down list and on the right side pane, the intended edge node is not listed.

Environment

NSX

Cause

  • The corresponding edge node(s) is already added to the edge cluster even before the edge replacement process is initiated.
  • This prevents the corresponding edge nodes from being recognized as suitable nodes to replace within the edge cluster.

Resolution

  • Remove the concerned Edge nodes from the Edge Node cluster.
  • After removal, these nodes will show up as available for selection in the replacement option.
