Issue/Introduction

• Local SPAN port mirror configuration fails with the error message "No logical port is found in selected VMs and VNICs".
• The destination virtual machine is connected to a vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS) port group.
• From NSX Manager /var/log/vmware/proton/nsxapi.log, it shows error below:
  
  WARN NodeStatusPropertiesMsgListener-1-1 TransportNodeQueryDao XXXX FABRIC [nsx@XXXX comp="nsx-manager" level="WARNING" subcomp="manager"] UUID XXXX could not be found

Environment

VMware NSX 4.x

Cause

The source and destination virtual machines for a Local SPAN session must be connected to an NSX segment, rather than a vSphere Distributed Switch (VDS) port group.

Resolution

1. Connect both the source and destination virtual machines for the Local SPAN session to an NSX segment.
2. Reconfigure the Local SPAN session.
