This article provide information on verifying all the required vSAN TCP/UDP ports are open.

Environment

• VMware vSAN (all versions)

Resolution

• The list of TCP/UDP ports required for vSAN can be found here:  VMware Ports and Protocols (vSAN)
• You typically use 2 tools to verify the needed ports are open:

• • netcat (nc) to verify TCP port connectivity.
  • tcpdump-uw to collect packet traces to verify UDP port connectivity.
