"Extraction of Image from host fails" due to VMware Tools VIB when deploying vCenter via Cloud Builder

Issue/Introduction

Deploying a new VCF 5.2.x environment with Cloud Builder and this fails when deploying VC with error indicating issue with "Image extraction" error:

"A general system error occurred: Recreation of the VIB VMware_locker_tools-light_12.5.4.24964629-24964811 failed due to checksum mismatch. VIB may have been created using older tools. Try a different host or update the component that contains this VIB. Extraction of image from host ESXI_FQDN failed"

It had issue to compose the VIB payload from the host at host seeding:

Resolution

1. List the VIBS installed on the ESXi host - esxcli software vib list
2. Check what VMware Tools VIBs are installed
3. Remove the VMware Tools VIB from the host
4. Install the VMware Tools VIB again
