When reviewing installed packages, you may find Postgres 13 packages even though vCenter is using version 14. This can be determined by executing the following commands:
Determine the current version of Postgres:
/opt/vmware/vpostgres/current/bin/psql --version
Determine what Postgres packages are installed on the appliance:
tdnf list installed | grep postgres
VMware vCenter 8.x
Although Postgres 14 is in use for vCenter, the older packages of Postgres may still be installed.
This is expected behavior and is not a failed upgrade or installation.
Note: Removal of Postgres 13 or any other modifications to the appliance packages is not recommended nor supported: VMware Virtual Appliances and customizations to operating system and included packages.
