Issue/Introduction

  • On logging into the Aria Operations Admin UI (https://AriaOps_IP_or_FQDN/admin), the Data node is in inaccessible state.
  • On accessing the web console of the affected VM, the following error message is observed: 
    "No Network Detected. Please check the Network Configuration."

  • On rebooting the affected node, the VM does not boot in emergency mode.
  •  Check for any special characters or spacing with the IPs in the following log location:
/opt/vmware/var/log/vrops_network_manager.log

Cause

Corruption or misformatting in the network configuration

Resolution

  • Remove the current Network Adapter of the affected Aria Operations node and add a new Network Adapter:
    • Login to the vCenter UI.
    • Right Click on the affected VM and Select Edit Settings.
    • Select and remove the existing Network Adapter.
    • To add a new Adapter: click Add New Device → Network Adapter.
      • Adapter Type: Typically VMXNET3 (for vROps and other modern VMs).
      • MAC Address: Leave as Automatic unless a specific MAC is required.

Note: Ensure to take snapshots before making the changes.
