Issue/Introduction

PTF LU16382 has a DB2 hold action to rebind the plan, there are multiple systems sharing the same DB2 group, does it mean applying this PTF to all systems at the same time and then run DB2 bind? The normal maintenance procedure is one system at a time. If the apply is to one system but the DB2 bind is not run, will there be issues with the warehouse task?

Resolution

Once the code in the maintenance is implemented the bind is necessary. However, there are some things to consider as to how the CEM Warehouse systems on the LPARs in the SYSPLEX are affected. If they share a loadlib, then all of the systems will have the new code and the bind will bring all of the systems in sync. If they have separate loadlibs, then implementing the code on one system and performing the bind should allow all of the systems to continue running with their current levels of code. All of the current packages should be included in the bind of the plan and are available for the various levels of code.
