VMware Cloud Foundation Installer - Binary Management - components fail to download

Issue/Introduction

The environment is online, the depot connection has been configured, with the download token having been entered and authenticated with.

 

There is no proxy in use.

 

Trying to download binaries on the Binary Management page of the VMware Cloud Foundation Installer UI results in a "Downloaded Status" of "Failed".

 

The log file /var/log/vmware/vcf/lcm/lcm-debug.log contains these entries - 

Error getting file size, got response: 403 Forbidden HTTP/1.1

Got Http error[403] while downloading bundle [/COMP/VRSLCM/VCF-OPS-Lifecycle-Manager-Appliance-9.0.0.0.24695816.ova]

Bundle download failed

Error [403] downloading bundle [/COMP/VRSLCM/VCF-OPS-Lifecycle-Manager-Appliance-9.0.0.0.24695816.ova] from dl.broadcom.com:443

 

 

 

Environment

VCF 9.0

Cause

A download token for a site ID that does not have the appropriate entitlements is being incorrectly used on the VMware Cloud Foundation Installer appliance.

Resolution

Configure the correct download token on the VMware Cloud Foundation Installer appliance, this will be a download token for a site ID that has the appropriate entitlements.

Once this has been done, it is expected that the download will be successful.
