Issue/Introduction

Problem:

During a CA Workload Automation 11.3.6 SP4 install or upgrade on a specific Windows 2008 r2 machine we are seeing an error.

*** SEVERE ERROR *** Unable to load _CaUser.

It fails and will not continue.

 

Environment:

Workload Automation AE 11.3.6 sp4

Windows 2008 r2

 

Workaround: 

Use the Workload Automation Agents only media to perform the install.  The root cause of the problem is believed to be within the installSheild UseDLL() function having issues with the system's environment.  It is unable to load the causer.dll during the installation / upgrade.  The Agent installer does not use installSheild, it uses InstallAnywhere, and therefore circumvents this operating system / environment issue.
