vRealize_Operations_Manager_Only_CP-8.14.x-to-8.18.5.24967113.pak upgrade not working

Issue/Introduction

While attempting to remediate VMSA-2025-0015, vRealize_Operations_Manager_Only_CP-8.14.x-to-8.18.5.24967113.pak was downloaded and applied. The patch appears to install, but the appliance does not automatically reboot and continues to run the older version after manual reboot attempts. Assistance is needed to complete the upgrade to Aria Operations 8.18.5.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.5

Cause

The Cloud Proxy (CP only) upgrade PAK was applied instead of the appliance upgrade PAK

Example:
vRealize_Operations_Manager_Only_CP-8.14.x-to-8.18.5.24967113.pak

Resolution

1. Download the correct package file from Broadcom Product Downloads
   • vRealize_Operations_Manager_Only_CP-8.14.x-to-8.18.5.24967113.pak
2. Install via the Admin UI
3. Allow automatic reboot
4. Once the cluster is online, verify the target version/build is showing 8.18.5/24967113 in the Admin UI.
