Replacing a witness node in Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

Witness node needs IP address change.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Resolution

Please ensure an offline snapshot is taken of all the nodes including the witness node before proceeding, see https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/342576/.

To replace a witness node with Continuous Availability configured:

1. Deploy a new witness node with the new IP address.
2. Power on the new witness node and do not navigate to the witness node IP address from your browser.
3. Log into the admin page of the Aria Operations cluster as admin.
4. Under System Status page click on the Replace Node button which look like 2 arrows pointing in opposite direction.
5. Select Witness Node and enter in the in the address of the witness node.
6. Click Finish.
7. Cluster will proceed to restart and once it comes online the witness node should be replaced with the new one.
