Issue/Introduction

Introduction: 

This article explains under what conditions and to what extent CA WAAE (formerly known as AutoSys) and and CA WCC (Workload Control Center) can be used with Oracle Exadata Database Machine.

Question: 

Is Oracle Exadata supported or certified with CA WAAE r11.3x and CA WCC 11.3x?

Answer: 

Currently, CA WAAE and CA WCC do not exploit any Oracle Exadata Database Machine specific functionality and have not been tested. However, if an AE or WCC database runs on a remote Oracle Exatada machine which provides a “Standard Database Service” with a supported Oracle release, then the fact that the database server runs on an Oracle Exadata Machine will be transparent to our applications.

 

Essentially, the database running on the Oracle Exadata Machine would need to provide a service identical to a standard Oracle DB Server.
