Issue/Introduction

After new hardware has been added or a device has been replaced in the network, the interfaces and device information are not showing correctly in Spectrum.

Environment

Release: Any version of Spectrum
Component: SPCCSS

Cause

If a device has been replaced and the ip address stays the same, Spectrum has no way of knowing that the device has been changed and will display the old cached information.  Any time a device is removed from the network it should be deleted in Spectrum and likewise if the device is being replaced it should be deleted first and then rediscovered in Spectrum.   During a normal poll cycle, Spectrum does not know that a device has been replaced and therefore the information will not be correct.  This is also true if modules on the device have been added, changed or removed.

Resolution

Delete the device from CA Spectrum  and rediscover the device.
