High CPU spikes every 60 seconds on Cloud Director appliance

Issue/Introduction

• Performance charts are showing CPU usage spikes high for a couple of seconds every minute.
• High CPU usage occurs at regular intervals after upgrade from VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1.
• Experiencing performance issues with application cells.
• Systems regularly show 100% CPU and memory utilization.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.0

Cause

The problem occurs because the appliance synchronization service invokes a cell-management-tool command to import trusted certificates. There are redundant updates to the truststore when import-trusted-certificates is invoked even though the certificates are already present in the truststore.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in Cloud Director 10.6.1.1 which is available at Broadcom downloads.
