Issue/Introduction

We are experimenting with Endevor Bridge For Git (BFG) to establish a hybrid model environment where users can work with Endevor OR GitHub Enterprise and would like to inquire about recommended best practice in a few areas.

When an element is updated in Endevor we have a CCID and COMMENT but these are not being included in the Git Commit history when the elements are updated in Endevor and Sync'd back to GIT - is there a way to pass/set these so that CCIDs/Comments can be traced in Git after a Sync?

Environment

Endevor Bridge For Git.

Resolution

By default all changes from Endevor to Git are synchronized in a single commit (also having a single commit message), but elements being synchronized may have different CCID and COMMENTs. You can turn on "enhanced traceability" to synchronize every element as a separate commit. When this is enabled, CCID and COMMENT (and optionally other information) are present in the commit message. Also the commit author is set to the original userid in Endevor. For more details see EndevorĀ® Bridge for Git 2.0 > Installing > Set up Git Server Communication > Application Properties > Specific Bridge for Git Application Options specifically the option "commit-author"
