VCF Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

During upgrade attempt from VCF Operations for Networks 6.13 to 6.14, upgrade appears to be stuck on the last step -- upgrading the last collector.

NOTE:  VCF Operations for Networks was formerly named Aria Operations for Networks (AON), and prior to that was named vRealize Network Insight (vRNI).

Environment

VCF Operations for Networks

Cause

The cause of this is not fully understood, but is thought to be a rare occurrence, and possibly caused by a race condition affected file locks.

Resolution

  1. Reboot the Collector Node.
  2. After the Collector Node comes back up, SSH into the collector node with the consoleuser user
  3. Enter the command show-version and verify that the version is as expected.
  4. At this time you should be able to log into the GUI and see no issues in the Settings --> Infrastructure and Support --> Infrastructure and Updates page.
  5. If that is not the case, please open a support case for the VCF Operations for Networks team with the instructions at Creating and managing Broadcom support cases
