Issue/Introduction

IX appliances found to be in read only mode.

Migrations are failing as a result

Unable to run fsck commands as root password is unknown and cannot be reset due to read only mode

Resolution

Redeploy the IX appliances to recover from this state. 

  • Navigate to Interconnect > Service Mesh > View Appliances > check the box next to the impacted Appliance > select redeploy (you do not need to select the force option)

Then force cleanup the migrations that were impacted to prevent any future issues. 

  • Navigate to Migrations > select any impacted Migration Groups > select the impacted migrations within the group > perform force cleanup

Once force cleanup is completed you can retry the migrations.
