Issue/Introduction

vCenter adapter instances are showing state "Collecting" but status "No data receiving".

"Validate Connection" test connection is successful but adapter instance still shows status "No data receiving".

Stopping and starting the adapter instance still shows status "No data receiving".

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Resolution

To resolve this issue restart all the nodes in the cluster.

  1. Log into the admin page "https://<primary node>/admin" as admin.
  2. Click "Take cluster offline" and hit OK.
  3. Wait for cluster status to show "Offline".
  4.  Open vSphere client where the Aria Operations cluster reside.
  5. Shutdown guest OS starting with data nodes, replica, and then primary node.
  6. Start guest OS starting with primary node, replica, and then data nodes.
  7. Once all nodes are up and running log into the admin page "https://<primary node>/admin" as admin.
  8. Click "Bring cluster online".
  9. Once cluster is back online verify the vCenter adapter instance are status shows "Data receiving".
