The Online Database Backup (OLB) has been failing frequently in Spectrum 24.3.11 and later versions

Issue/Introduction

Since upgrading to version 24.3.11 and higher, SpectroSERVER Online Database Backup (OLB) has been experiencing frequent failures.

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum 24.3.11 and higher

This is specifically seen on the Windows Operating System.

Cause

The multi-thread database save is failing.

Resolution

Add the following parameter in the $SPECROOT/SS/.vnmrc file:

enable_multithread_ssdb_copy=false

 

Once the parameter is in place, stop and restart the SpectroSERVER for the changes to go into effect.
