Issue/Introduction

This article highlights the steps to change the IP address of the Usage Meter 9.x appliance

Environment

vCloud Usage Meter 9.x 

Resolution

To change the IP of the Usage Meter appliance, please follow the below steps:

NOTE: Ensure to take a snapshot of the virtual machine before making any changes 

  1. Take an SSH session to UM and run the below command:

    nmctl add-addr dev eth0 a <ipaddress/mask>
  2. Restart the Usage Meter VM through the vCenter
  3. After restart, make sure that the IP address, DNS server, Default Gateway is updated under vApp Options on the Virtual Machine (Configure -> vApp Options)
