How to reset the password to Advanced Authentication Master Admin without a SQL query.

Issue/Introduction

Advanced Authentication Admin passwords can get compromised and need to be changed. The instructions below allow one to change the Master Admin password without any SQL queries to be run on the underlying database.

Environment

Component: AuthMinder ( Arcot WebFort)

RiskMinder ( Arcot RiskFort)

Cause

Admin account is locked out because of multiple wrong attempts to login.

Resolution

Step 1.  Login as the Master Admin and then click on "MASTERADMIN" as shown in screen shot below:

 

Step 2.  Reset the password by providing the "Current Password", "New Password" and "Confirm Password", then click on "Save". 

Step 3.  The success message "Successfully updated your profile." is displayed. 

 

 

Additional Information

In general, a SQL query to the underlying database is required when admin accounts get locked after allowed number of consecutive credential mismatches have occurred.
