Issue/Introduction

  • When accessing VCF Usage Meter 9.0 with https://<Usage Meter IP Address>, there is "Server error. HTTP status code: 400 [invalid_request] OAuth 2.0 Parameter: redirect_uri" error on web browser as below:




  • In /var/log/vmware-um-platform/vmware-um-login.log, there is error entry like:

    YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ  INFO 1490 --- [VCF Usage Meter Login Service] [HttpClient-x-Worker-x] o.b.jsse.provider.ProvTlsClient : [client #xx @xxxxxxxx] raised fatal(2) certificate_unknown(46) alert: Failed to process record

    Caused by: java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative name found matching IP address <Usage Meter IP address>
            at org.bouncycastle.jsse.provider.HostnameUtil.checkHostname(HostnameUtil.java:69)

Resolution

Please follow the instruction below step by step:

  1. Please clear web browser cache and try again, if it doesn't work, go to step 2;
  2. Please access Usage Meter with its FQDN, like: https://<Usage Meter FQDN>,  if it doesn't work, go to step 3;
  3. Please apply: Failing to login to VCF Usage Meter 9.0 with error "Server error. HTTP status code: 400 [invalid_request] OAuth 2.0 Parameter: redirect_uri".
