As part of SSP 5.1, there is new metrics reported for TN and LSP. After upgrading from SSP 5.0 to 5.1 , in the SSP UI, after navigating to System → Overview, the "FLOW PROCESSING CAPACITY" panel for "Observed Flows" will show an error "No metrics are available for the selected hosts and clusters" as per below screenshots.
Error snapshot from the UI :
SSP 5.1
The issue occurs due to a schema mismatch in the Transport Node (TN) flow metrics tables after upgrade. SSP 5.1 introduces new derived flow metrics, which add additional columns to the metrics tables. The existing tables created before the upgrade do not contain these new columns for the newly added derived metrics.
After the upgrade, the metrics query service in 5.1 expects these columns to be present, which leads to query errors.
This situation continues until the next rollup process runs. The rollup process periodically creates new metric tables with the updated 5.1 schema. Once these new tables are created, the issue will be resolved automatically.
SSP setups upgraded to 5.1 will experience a gap in TN metrics until the new table is created after the rollup.
The time to recover this data gap depends on selected request duration:
