Issue/Introduction

  • After adding the VCF Adapter in Aria Operations, existing adapters (vCenter, vSAN, and NSX) are now hierarchically.
  • Unable to rename the vCenter adapter after it hierarchically moves under the VCF adapter.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x
VMware Aria Operations 9.x

Resolution

The issue has been in VMware Aria Operations 8.18.6 and VMware Cloud Foundation Operations 9.0.2 release in which the vCenter Display name can be edited from the inventory management as below steps and not from the adapter instance:

  1. On VCF Operations UI select Infrastructure Operations then Configurations.
  2. On the list select the Inventory Management tab.
  3. On the filter in the top right corner, enter vCenter for the adapter type and Object Type "vCenter":

    "Adapter Type":vcenter  "Object Type":vcenter

  4. Select the vCenter and click on the pencil on the top bar.
  5. Edit the display name with the name you wish.
