High CPU utilization Issue in Aria Lifecycle Manager

Issue/Introduction

• High CPU utilisation for Aria Lifecycle appliance in vSphere
• On the appliance, the 'top' command shows 'postgres' is consuming a large percentage of CPU time.

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18

Cause

This issue can occur when there are a large number of postgres requests are stuck in a queue and cause the requests engine overload.

Resolution

The resolution for this case requires cleaning up of the postgres database. In order to ensure the correct process is followed, please contact Broadcom Support, stating this KB in the description.
