Scope of using bare metal OS for deploying TKG Clusters

Issue/Introduction

• You have Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) clusters deployed on a BareMetal OS using a third party bare metal provisioning platform or cluster API provider such as Tinkerbell.
• Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) is predominantly  designed to deploy on VMware vSphere, AWS, and Azure, and does not officially support deployment on any other infrastructure. 

 

Environment

• VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Management 2.x

Cause

•  Deploying TKG Workload clusters on a BareMetal OS is not tested and validated by Broadcom.

 

Resolution

• TKG clusters deployed using third party bare metal platforms or Cluster API providers will not be supported by Broadcom. 
• Please reach out to the third party vendor or you may have to rely on community support for any assistance.
