Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • Alarm "Write Endurance of SSD is less than the threshold value" is triggered on the vCenter UI for ESXi host along with iDRAC event SSD0001 occurs on iDRAC management UI.



  • There are no issues seen on the vSAN disk group.

Cause

The "Write" Endurance of solid state drive in the concerned ESXi host has less than the threshold value of Remaining Write Rated Endurance. This is causing the alarm to triggered in the vCenter.

Resolution

As per the VxRail KB: VxRail: event code: VXR508SSD0001, Back up the data on the solid state drive (SSD), and then contact the service provider for more assistance
