HCX NE-HA group state "DEGRADED" with "ACTIVE/UNDECIDED"

Issue/Introduction

• HCX NE pair shows UNDECIDED for standby appliances.
  
  
  
• All the network extensions are functioning properly, and no issues with data paths observed.
• HCX NE tunnel status for both NE's in HA pair are "UP".
• The issue began when both NE pairs were mistakenly moved to the wrong cluster and later returned to the correct one.
• After being moved to the wrong cluster, both NE tunnels went "DOWN" but came "UP" once they were restored to the correct cluster.
• This left the NE-HA pair in a "DEGRADED" state with the status "ACTIVE/UNDECIDED".
• A redeployment of the NE-HA Management was attempted, but it failed with the error: "Failed to verify cleanup of appliance backup records."

Cause

The HCX NE-HA solution is unable to handle double fault scenarios and cannot recover if both the Active and Standby are down.

Resolution

In the current state of HCX NE-HA, please perform a REDEPLOY [Choose-Force] for the NE in the HA pair.
