VMware Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations) 8.x

Issue/Introduction

  • After upgrading to 8.18.5 from 8.18.4, the support log bundle may still show the version as 8.18.4.
(Please note that 8.18.4 is just an example — the same behavior can also occur when upgrading from 8.18.x)

  • SupportBundle/Your_vAOps__IP_Address//system/rpm.txt shows:

    vmware-vcops-8.18.4-24965658.x86_64.rpm
    vmware-vcops-web-admin-8.18.4-24965658.x86_64.rpm

  • SupportBundle/Your_vAOps_IP_Address/var/log/vmware/vcops/vcops_upgrade.log

2025-10-22T23:52:40 logbuildversion Build Version: VMware vCenter Operations Manager 8.18.4 Build 24965658

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.5

Cause

The version numbers for the following components (RPMs) were inadvertently not updated during the build generation workflow.

Resolution

There is currently no solution available.
Engineering is aware of this issue and plans to address it in an upcoming release.

Because these are internal packages that may use different version numbering schemes, this discrepancy does not impact the actual product version. The underlying code base is already at the expected 8.18.5 level.
Therefore, the product is fully updated to v8.18.5.

As a workaround, you can confirm the correct running version from the following file in the support bundle:

SupportBundle/AriaOperations_IP_address/slice-info/conf/.buildInfo
