Active Directory Logins Not Working Properly on Server Version 8.11.2

Carbon Black App Control

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to App Control version 8.11.2, AD logins with the format "Domain\User" no longer work. 

Environment

  • App Control Server: 8.11.2
  • App Control Server integrated with Active Directory domains

Cause

Issue being investigated under CRE-22603

Resolution

  1. Login to the App Control console as a local (non-AD) account
  2. Navigate to Settings (Gear Icon) > Login Accounts > Users tab
  3. Delete the affected user(s)
    • If the user has multiple variations of the same login (IE [email protected] and domain/user) delete both variations.
  4. Have the AD user login again
    • The account will be automatically re-created at login. No need to manually re-create
