Issue/Introduction

RACF is being used as the External Security Interface (ESI) for Endevor.
Planning to change the RACF password encryption to KDFAES.
Is there any impact on Endevor?

Resolution

There is no impact on Endevor with the RACF password encryption method change to KDFAES.

Endevor does not change user passwords in RACF nor deals with password history in RACF..
All that Endevor does is to present passwords to RACF when it needs to impersonate an user. The Endevor alternate ID is a special case as it is impersonated without checking its password, but still it is not affected by this change.
