Issue/Introduction

  • Unlocked the admin account as per KB How to reset and unlock the local admin account in Aria Operations for Logs (Formerly vRealize Log Insight) and the account immediately locks
  • VMware Aria Operations for Logs is added as an adapter instance in VMware Aria Operations Integrations.  You can can confirm by signing into Aria Operations product UI → Navigate to Administrations → Integrations  → Expand VMware Aria Operations for Logs Adapter → Select the VMware Aria Operations for Logs Adapter instance → Click Edit → Click on Pencil icon beside the Credential → Operations for Logs Username is admin.

Resolution

  1. Sign into Aria Operations product UI → Navigate to Administrations → Integrations  → Expand VMware Aria Operations for Logs Adapter → Select  the VMware Aria Operations for Logs Adapter instance → Click Stop Collecting
  2. Unlock the admin account as per KB How to reset and unlock the local admin account in Aria Operations for Logs (Formerly vRealize Log Insight)
  3. Navigate back to Aria Operations product UI → Navigate to Administrations → Integrations  → Expand VMware Aria Operations for Logs Adapter → Select the VMware Aria Operations for Logs Adapter instance → Click Edit → Click on Pencil icon beside the Credential → Update the Operations for Logs Password with the correct password → Click Validate Connection → Click Save → Select  the VMware Aria Operations for Logs Adapter instance → Click Start Collecting .  Allow for a 5 minute collection cycle.
