UIM Inventory in DXO2 includes vmware Config Items (CI)

Issue/Introduction

We observed a drastic UIM Inventory count difference between DXO2 and the UIM Inventory after deploying the vmware probe, with the count much higher in DXO2

 

We noticed that the UIM Inventory in DXO2 includes additional View types with configuration items from the vmware probe.

Resolution

Vmware probe configuration items (CI), among others, are synced to DXO2 when the `apm_bridge setup -> topology_service -> publish_config_items` setting is set to `1`. When this setting is enabled, both probe configuration items and computer systems are published to DXO2.

To disable probe configuration items from being synchronized to DX02, the `apm_bridge setup -> topology_service -> publish_config_items` parameter needs to be set to `0`. This should then be followed by a probe restart.

Please note that the VMware configuration items will drop from the UIM Inventory in DX02 once the time configured in the apm_bridge setup -> <resource> vertexTtlInSec and edgeTtlInSec settings are met
