Mandatory: Take snapshots - Snapshot Creation in VMware Aria Operations -  Managing snapshots in vSphere Web Client
Snapshots are required on all analytics (Primary, Replica, and Data) nodes in the cluster before following the steps below. It is not necessary to take snapshots of Cloud Proxies.

Take Snapshot of VMware Aria Life Cycle Managing snapshots in vSphere Web Client

  1. Sign in to VMware Aria Operations product UI
    1. Navigate to Administration → Integrations → Expand the 'VMware Aria Operations for Logs' adapter → Click the vertical ellipsis (3 dots) → Click Delete 
       Do not select 'Delete related objects' checkbox.
    2. Navigate to Administration → Integrations → Repository →  Click VMware Aria Operations for Logs →  Click 3 horizonal dots →  Click Deactivate
  2. Sign in to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager using 'admin@local' user account.
    1. Navigate to Lifecycle Operations → Environments → Click on View Details for the environment containing VMware Aria Operations and VMware Aria Operations for Logs
      1. Select  VMware Aria Operations for Logs product
      2. Click on 3 horizontal dots
      3. Click on Trigger Inventory Sync.
        Note: Repeat this for VMware Aria Operations environment
  3. Try the upgrade again for VMware Aria Life Cycle 
  4. If the upgrade completes successfully, but you still see task Delete VMware Aria Operations for Logs Adapter in VMware Aria Operations for the Management Domain fail in SDDC manager please review the steps on KB How to skip the subtask in the SDDC Manager
