Package Server Storage Usage Only Calculates Primary File Storage Location

Issue/Introduction
The Package Service status for a remote Package Server (PS) in the Symantec Management Console (SMC) shows the Storage used by PS based only on the Primary file storage location on Windows OS setting, and does not include storage used by packages that have a custom destination location on the Package Server.
This discrepancy can lead to the Package Service reporting a lower used storage amount than the actual storage consumed on the Package Server, especially if Deployment Solution (DS) images or Software Management (SWM) packages are configured to use a custom, non-primary package location.
Example from the console:
The Package Service status shows Storage used by PS: 52.74 GB (7699 files).
* Example from the client (Agent): The actual total size of all managed packages (including those in custom locations) is 142.94 GB.
* Actual disk usage: The Primary PS Storage (Q: drive) shows 47.0 GB free of 99.9 GB used by the primary packages, while other drives, such as the DS IMAGES (L: drive), show additional usage (e.g., 40.1 GB free of 119 GB) for custom-located packages.

Resolution
The reported storage usage and file count in the Symantec Management Console under Package Service status for a Package Server are intentionally calculated only from the disk drive where the Primary file storage location on Windows OS is configured.
This design choice ensures that administrators have clear visibility into the free space of the primary disk drive, which is crucial for managing packages and preventing the disk from running out of space.

The intention is to provide a clear picture of the primary package location disk for monitoring and managing warnings based on low free space.

The system does not summarize storage numbers from all possible drives to avoid obscuring the critical free space information of the primary drive.

Packages that utilize custom destination locations on Package Servers (like some DS images or SWM packages) are considered the administrator's responsibility to monitor and manage, and their usage is not included in the Package Service storage statistics reported to the Symantec Management Console. To view the total size of all downloaded packages, including those in custom locations:

Access the Symantec Management Agent interface on the remote Package Server.
