Symantec Endpoint Protection for Linux fail to install with "Insufficient number of agent packages to install without repo" error message

Issue/Introduction

When using an offline installation package, Symantec Endpoint Protection[SEP] for Linux fail to install with the following error message:

Error 1: Insufficient number of agent packages to install without repo.

Environment

SEP for Linux 14.3 RU 2 and above 

Cause

Possible caused

- The installer isn't able to locate valid packages to be installed, because the offline installation package was created for a different Linux distribution.
- the source folder name or path where the installer file is saved on the Linux system has spaces in it

Resolution

- Make sure to create an offline installation package matching your Linux distribution.
- Eliminate any space in the path or the folder name where the installer file is saved on the Linux system and then execute the installer.
