NSX upgrade precheck fails due to OOM error and Upgrade Coordinator service crash

Issue/Introduction

  • While  upgrading to NSX 4.2.x. An error message shows while running precheck "upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason connection failure, transport failure reason: delayed connect error:111"



  • There is no "JVMOutOfMemory" reported in /var/log/upgrade-coordinator/upgrade-coordinator-tomcat-wrapper.log .
  • No crash dump generated for OOM error under /image/cores
  • In the Top.mem.log it was observed that Uproton was taking 21.9%

Environment

VMware NSX

Resolution

Perform a rolling reboot of the NSX manager's to release memory.

Note: To investigate the possible cause of the issue, please gather the NSX Manager Support Bundle and open a SR with NSX as product -Creating and managing Broadcom support cases
