When integrating Broadcom SiteMinder with Symantec VIP using the OIDC (OpenID Connect) flow, administrators may observe that the authentication page appears in English instead of Greek, even though the Greek locale is configured and supported.
This issue occurs because SiteMinder does not correctly send the Greek locale information in the OIDC request to VIP unless explicitly configured for it.
Product: SiteMinder integrated with Symantec VIP (OIDC)
VIP Component: VIP User Service (OIDC Authentication)
In the SiteMinder OIDC flow, the locale information is passed as part of the OIDC request to the VIP service.
If SiteMinder is not configured to use the Greek locale, it sends English (en-US) as the default locale, causing the authentication page to display in English instead of Greek.
To display the authentication page in Greek, configure SiteMinder to use the Greek locale by updating the Agent Configuration Object (ACO) parameters.
Steps:
Log in to the SiteMinder Administrative UI.
Navigate to:
Infrastructure → Agent → Agent Configuration Object
Select the appropriate web server or agent where the OIDC integration is configured.
Modify or add the following parameters:
Save the configuration and restart the SiteMinder Web Agent service if required.
Please refer the SiteMinder documentation to understand the steps to configure Greek language.
After applying the configuration changes:
Attempt an OIDC login via SiteMinder.
Confirm that the authentication page from VIP now appears in Greek instead of English.
This behavior is specific to SiteMinder–VIP OIDC integrations.
The EG (Enterprise Gateway) flow displays the correct localized content as it passes the locale information correctly to VIP.
Greek language is fully supported by the VIP authentication pages.
For additional details on locale handling and configuration, refer to the SiteMinder documentation on “Agent Configuration Object Parameters.”
