Problem with AD controller configuration, a list and a choice of Auto choosing DC host are missing in Aria Operations.

Issue/Introduction

While running this command:

nslookup -type=SRV _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.example.com 

from the KB Authentication Source not switching if DC decommissioned in Aria Operations, the following result is returned:

;; communications error to ::1#53 connection refused
;; communications error to 127.0.0.1#53 connection refused
;; no servers could be reached

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x

Resolution

Check if any of the Aria operations analytics node(s) is/are missing the vApp Options properties in vCenter.

If any of the vApp Options properties are missing follow the steps below:

1. Take Snapshot Creation in VMware Aria Operations
   
   
2. On the affected analytic node, follow the steps from KB Restoring vApp properties in VMware Aria Operations 8.14 and Later
   
   
3. After fixing the vApp Options properties on Aria Operations node(s), bring the cluster online, in the user interface the option that display the DC host list or auto option will now be available in AD controller configuration.
