Issue/Introduction

File Event objects in Automic Workload Automation (AWA) are failing to correctly detect files or trigger when their monitored path contains a symbolic link (symlink) to a directory on a UNIX-like operating system.

  • File Event objects configured to monitor a path that includes a symlink (e.g., /tmp/softlink/) do not detect changes or the presence of files within the target directory of the symlink.
  • The "Check count" in the Event's details may display '1', but the "Event count" remains '0', indicating that no files were detected or the event criteria were not met.
