Database down reporting: with reason: 'PG_CTL failed.'

Issue/Introduction

After running gpstart and each segment reports the following:

20251016:11:28:33:115197 gpstart:<HOSTNAME>:gpadmin-[INFO]:-DBID:2  FAILED  host:'sdw1' datadir:'/data1/primary/gpseg0' with reason:'PG_CTL failed.'

 

The segment logs show the following:

Resolution

Correct the host pg_hba.conf file to trust connections from the coordinator and other segment hosts and remove all the hostssl entries.
