Issue/Introduction

In VCF Operations, the assigned Split License shows expired. However, in the Business Service Console (BSC), the VMware Cloud Foundation licenses are still valid.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x

Cause

The Split License is associated with a VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) license pool that expired. When the pool expires, BSC automatically marks the Split License as Inactive and resets its Allocated Capacity to 0; as a result, VCF Operations displays the Split License as Expired, and BSC does not allow changing the license while the Split License is Inactive.

Resolution

  1. Sign in to the BSC Portal.
  2. Create a new Split License.
  3. Assign the applicable VCF license to the new Split License.
  4. Assign the new Split License to VCF Operations.
  5. Verify the assignment is active for VCF Operations (refresh the page and confirm the license now appears under the correct entity)
