VM Power On/Off Operation not Triggered from vSphere Client

Issue/Introduction

When an operator attempts to power on or power off a virtual machine from the vSphere Client

• No corresponding task is initiated
• No relevant log entries are found on either the ESXi host or the vCenter Server

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8

Cause

The issue occurs when using an unsupported web browser version.

Resolution

Update the web browser to a supported version and retry the operation.

Check vSphere Client Software Requirements.
