Uninstall Embedded NSX from vCenter

Issue/Introduction

• NSX was installed using the vCenter Plugin (aka "Embedded installation").
• You would like to remove the NSX dependencies that may impact updates to the host or cluster images (LCM or Cluster Updates).

 

Environment

• VMware vCenter
• VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x
• VMware NSX 4.x

Resolution

1. Ensure NSX is not in use before continuing with uninstallation.
   • In the NSX UI, review System > Fabric > Hosts and ensure NSX has been uninstalled from all hosts and clusters. 
   • Consult the documentation for Uninstalling NSX from a Host Transport Node for specific removal instructions.
2. In the NSX UI, access System > Fabric > Compute Managers. 
3. Select the Compute Managers and choose Delete.
4. From the vSphere Client UI, select NSX from the main menu.   
5. The screen should look unconfigured for NSX and present an option to Deploy NSX.
