Manual Space Reclamation request for VLCR protection groups

Issue/Introduction

An administrator observed space reclamation for protection groups is not showing appropriate data.

Environment

VMware Live Cyber Recovery 7.27.x

Cause

This is a known issue. Frequent execution of “Test Failovers” for “Recovery Plans” is generating unnecessary da-vmc-* snapshots, leading to increased space consumption.

Resolution

The upcoming v28 release includes a permanent fix so that da-vmc-* snapshots are not taken for Test Failovers. 

As a workaround contact Broadcom Support with a request for manual space reclamation for protection groups. 

Provide following details 

1) Org ID

2) List of Protection Groups.

Additional Information

 • Customers may continue running “Test Failovers” if required for DR or audit purposes.
 • Until v28 is available, engineering team will proactively perform clean-up after test failovers to help manage space usage effectively.
