Issue/Introduction

 In the menu “Fleet Management > Passwords > VCF Management”, the password for the admin@local account for the “Fleet Management” component appears as “disconnected.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation Fleet Management 9.X

Resolution

  1. Snapshots are required of the VMware Cloud Foundation Fleet Management  appliance as per KB  Managing snapshots in vSphere Web Client

  2. SSH to the VMware Cloud Foundation Fleet Management  appliance and run the below commands :
    touch /var/lib/vrlcm/ENABLE_PWD_RETRIEVAL
    /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami-vlcm-passwd-reset

  3. Once password is set,  delete the file by running this command:
    rm /var/lib/vrlcm/ENABLE_PWD_RETRIEVAL
