CA Identity Governance

Issue/Introduction

While reviewing the eurekify.log, we identified an unexpected IP address that does not belong to the Identity environment. Could you please clarify what this IP address is and how it is related to Identity Governance?

Additionally, there is no cluster configuration set up.

The following error message appears in the log file:

07:59:05,553 ERROR [org.jboss.modcluster] (UndertowEventHandlerAdapterService - 1) MODCLUSTER000042: Error null sending INFO command to /10.xx.xx.xx:6666, configuration will be reset: null

Environment

Identity Governance - Standalone - V14.5 (Latest release)

Resolution

After reviewing the configuration and log files, we have confirmed that this error is not related to Identity Governance. JBoss/WildFly cluster communication uses broadcasting over a specific network subnet, and it appears that another application server is using the same subnet for its broadcast traffic.

The keyword “MODCLUSTER000042” originates from the mod_cluster subsystem rather than the core JBoss clustering mechanism. Additionally, there is no cluster configuration set up for the customer in their Identity Governance environment.

While this issue does not affect the functionality of your Identity Governance environment, it does generate unnecessary log entries.

As a next step, I recommend engaging your network engineer to identify the source of the IP address mentioned in the logs and coordinate with the corresponding team. Once identified, they should configure the other application to use a different subnet to prevent such conflicts.
