Issue/Introduction

Symptoms : 

• Navigate to Affected host > monitor > events. vCenter will report "Path redundancy to storage device" alerts.
• The /var/run/log/vobd.log file on the affected host confirms "Path redundancy to storage device" errors:
  YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM.SSSZ In(14) vobd[2097956]:  [scsiCorrelator] 6266390031764us: [esx.problem.storage.redundancy.degraded] Path redundancy to storage device naa.################################ degraded. Path vmhba65:C0:T0:L382 is down. Affected datastores: Unknown.

Cause

Storage devices are unmapped from the array.

Cause validation:

• The /var/run/log/vmkernel.log file on the affected host reports that the storage device was unmapped from the array.

Resolution

Involve the storage vendor to further check on why the storage devices were unmapped and take necessary actions accordingly.
