Issue/Introduction

  • Convert a vSphere Environment to a Management Domain
  • During the SDDC Brownfield Bring-up process, the operation failed, and the following messages were observed in the logs output/vcf_brownfield.log of vcf-brownfield-toolset :

    [ERROR] request_helper:26: Result status code from validate nsx spec: {'errorCode': 'REST_INVALID_API_INPUT', 'arguments': [], 'message': 'Invalid input', 'nestedErrors': [{'errorCode': 'DM_DUPLICATE_NSX_MANAGER_SPECS', 'arguments': [], 'message': 'The NSX manager specifications must be distinct'}], 'referenceToken': ''} : 400

    [ERROR] vcf_brownfield:642: NSX Spec did not pass validation. Found Errors: [<Response [400]>]. Please fix the payload and retry the operation.

Environment

VMware SDDC Manager 5.2

Cause

A duplicate ipAddress was detected in the networkDetailsSpec configuration.

Resolution

Remove the duplicate IP address in the NSXT Spec file and retry the operation.
